Job: People Footwear | Director of Sales | Vancouver, BC

Overview

The Director of Sales at People Footwear will lead our North American sales team to exceed targets and build one of the most exciting new brands in the footwear market.

Description

WHAT YOU DO:

- Source and manage new global distribution opportunities
- Maintain a comprehensive understanding of key sales information, product knowledge and market trends
- Lead and motivate North American sales reps to exceed seasonal selling goals
- Implement sales strategy programs for retail partners
- Schedule and attend seasonal trade shows to promote the brand, network, and increase sales
- Maintain close relationships with North American sales agents and global distributors as well as key retailers by making periodic visits, exploring specific needs, and anticipating new opportunities
- Assist General Manager to maintain effective internal communications to ensure all relevant company functions are kept informed of sales objectives.
- Improve product marketability and profitability by researching, identifying, and capitalizing on market opportunities
- Determine annual and gross-profit plans by forecasting and developing annual sales quotas/budget for regions; projected sales volume and profit for existing and new products; analyzing trends; establishing pricing strategies, assist senior management in establishing recommended selling prices
- Assist with recruitment and selection to build sales team
- Embody company culture  

QUALIFICATIONS & ATTRIBUTES:
 
- 5 or more years of footwear and/or fashion apparel Sales Management experience 
- Proven ability to increase sales, manage sell-in/sell-through, meet deadlines, and prioritize work load
- A quick learner with attention to detail
- Strong management competencies
- Tech Savvy - experience working with ERP systems and B2B platforms
- Excellent Microsoft Office skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Entrepreneurial ability to operate independently as well as to be a team player and thrive in a non-corporate workspace
- Assumes responsibility and ownership for tasks
- Ability to travel globally
