LOOKING FOR:
A Buyer's Assistant at Head Office in Calgary, AB who will have strong analytical, organizational, computer and communication skills. Interacting with multiple departments within the company is an integral aspect of the job. As a representative of Swimco, the assistant will be required to act professionally when dealing with vendors’ representatives and customer service.
Also, as the support function to the buyer, the assistant must be flexible and adaptable to the needs and requirements of the buying position.

RESPONSIBILTIES INCLUDE:
 Ensure all activities are in alignment with providing the product required at store level as per customer needs
 Knowledge of each store’s demographics and ranking of sales volume in order to better allocate product. Understand the market places in which we operate
 Create and submit purchase orders to vendors, as directed by the buyer, and ensure the accuracy of the order details
 Proficiency in entering retail price changes , transfers and style maintenance of skus
 Follow up with vendors and accounts payable to on any purchase order discrepancies and revise orders accordingly
 Review purchase orders to ensure timely deliveries and receipts. Assist in the prioritizing of purchase order receipts. Follow up with vendors as required.
 Maintain purchase orders and users on the company’s extranet
 Generate and review weekly buyer’s reports and results
 Distribution of product to stores based on buyer’s direction and store needs
 Regularly review inventory levels and sales performance of product by store, and initiate transfers to optimize profitable sell-throughs.
 Review bi-weekly store communication and take action on any necessary consolidations or product quality concerns
 Contacting stores on behalf of the buyer for product quality issues or sales performance concerns
 Request, organize and return samples to suppliers as required (i.e. photo-shoots, line reviews)

KEY QUALIFICATIONS
 Post-secondary education in Business or Retail Management
 Retail experience an asset (ideally within the Swimco stores)
 Strong analytical, communication and time management skills
 Ability to use the reports and information available from Swimco’s Point Of Sale system (Gemmar)
 Highly proficient with MS Office Suite, especially Excel
 Flexible to travel to stores and trade shows as required (passport required)
 High threshold for working in an ambiguous fast-paced environment with multiple moving pieces, which may be considered stressful at times.

 Ability to work overtime when it becomes necessary to fulfill deadline requirements
 Able to work at a desk in front of a computer for an average of 8 hours per day.
